SILVER SPHERE UFOs SEEN IN CANNONVILLE, GEORGIA
After a few quiet months, the tiny town of Cannonville, Georgia (population 400) is again the focus of UFO activity. Cannonville is on Highway 29 just east of West Point Lake, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) southwest of Atlanta. On Saturday, February 21, at 10 p.m., a few Cannonville residents spotted "a UFO with three lights on it...flashing and blinking in the Hogg Mountain area. Witnesses were close enough to have heard any sound, but there was none."
On Sunday, March 22, 1998, at 4 p.m., a 57-year- old Cannonville woman "was driving east on Long Cane Road and saw two bright 'silver balls' hanging in the air, just west of Hogg Mountain. The silver balls were about one mile (1.6 kilometers) away from her on the horizon at approximately 60 degrees height. The silver balls each had an apparent size several times bigger than Venus and a real size larger than a four-room house. The southern-most UFO 'disappeared' straight-up in a streaking fashion. The second UFO did the same a few seconds later." When she arrived in Cannonville, the woman rushed into her house and told her family what she had just seen. "Her sister went outside to look up and saw a yellow prop (propellor-engine) plane." She then spotted a hovering "silver ball" and "yelled for everyone to come outside. As the family ran out, the UFO disappeared."

MUFON investigator, John Thompson interviewed Douglas County Dispatcher, Adam Watson, who said, "I took a call from a frantic lady reporting a UFO as big as a house!" On April 5, 1998, the lady asked, "Is there a ball park behind my house?" He replied, "No. Why?" She said there is a bright white light as big as a house behind my house. The light has six smaller white lights on it, that are rotating. "Watson said Douglas County Sheriff Department sent out cars to patrol to Fatman Road the rest of the night, but none of the deputies arrived in time to see a UFO. Dispatcher Watson said the lady was quite disturbed and called Channel 2 in Atlanta and other news outlets about her UFO sighting. John also talked to dispatcher, Jennifer Craig, who also talked to the lady. She said, both the lady and her husband, and possibly some of their neighbors, saw the UFO, hovering over some trees near the couple's home. It had four large white lights and two smaller lights. The UFO hovered for 10 to15 minutes without making any noise. The lady described the UFO to the Douglas County dispatchers as the police cars raced to the scene, but the UFO disappeared just minutes before they arrived. GEORGIA: May 5, 1998
On Tuesday May 5, 1998, at 7:30PM, a former eight-year Air Force veteran reports seeing a strange "star-like" object moving strangely. The witness, now a college-educated chief electrician, who lives near Corinth in southeastern Heard County said he is certain that what he saw was not a planet, star, meteorite, satellite or man-made aircraft. Looking to the west he saw the blue light for about 5 minutes at 50 degrees above the horizon.
The UFO then took "1-1 1/2 minutes" to move to the northwest and while moving changed color to red. Sitting there for 30 seconds, the UFO went straight up to approximately 60 degrees above the horizon. While moving it "faded" to a yellow color. After another 30 seconds the UFO started moving again. This time it took nearly a minute to go to the north and stayed there for nearly 5 minutes and turned to a "illuminated green" color. The UFO finally "circled back" to an orientation that was just south of where it had started moving and took nearly 5 minutes to reach this point. The witness said he continued to watch the strange light until 8PM. The UFO was still there at about a 250-260 degrees azimuth and at about 60 degrees above the horizon. It was the Air Force veteran's impression that the UFO was not in our atmosphere and was surveying an area in Alabama.
